Cancer Support Expo Postponement Update
After extensive planning, outreach, and collaboration efforts, Islands Against Cancer, Inc. has made the difficult decision to postpone the June 17 Cancer Support Expo.
While we are disappointed, we believe this is the most responsible decision at this time. Our goal has always been to create a meaningful and impactful experience for cancer warriors, caregivers, medical professionals, nonprofits, and community partners. Unfortunately, we did not receive the level of participation needed to properly execute the event in the way our community deserves.
This decision was not made lightly.
We worked hard to spread the word through advertising, meetings, community outreach, and partnerships. What became clear throughout this process is that many warriors and caregivers need support in smaller, more direct, and more accessible ways within their own communities.
Because of that, Islands Against Cancer is shifting focus toward more collaborative community outreach efforts where we can meet warriors and caregivers where they are.
Most importantly, our mission has not stopped.
Islands Against Cancer continues to provide support, advocacy, technology assistance, educational guidance, and resources to cancer patients and caregivers navigating difficult healthcare journeys.
